Michael McCoy's website index page banner reveals a small lizard sunning itself on top of a large green leaf, in a tropical rainforest setting. The photograph is taken from underneath, sunlight from above luminating the lizard and the top of the leaf. The lizard's head and two right feet hang over the edge of the leaf, while the rest of the lizards body is seen as a shadow cast through the green of the leaf contrasted with a black background. This is the icon banner for the Nepalese graphic designer, Nishess Shakya, also known as Nix. The icon itself is a photographic image of the Iron Pot Lighthouse at the mouth of the Derwent River, downstream of Hobart. Behind the lighthouse located on a small rocky island is view of the distant Mount Wellington that towers over the city of Hobart. The lighthouse and island are brightly lit from a shaft of morning sunlight channelled under cloud, as with the distant lower slopes of Mount Wellington. The mountain itself almost blending into the dark blue overcast sky above and behind it.

After photographing a snow storm on New Years Day up on Mount Field in Tasmania (the photos will appear somewhere on the site later), I'm back in the office and catching up. New articles and photos of the Rolex Sydney Hobart 2008 continue to be uploaded as they are processed. Content to come will also include arrival photos to Constitution Dock in Hobart, in both the editorial and photo gallery sections of the website.

At the end of 2007, the photo lab that had provided Outimage with access to an online facility for clients to purchase prints had unfortunately closed it down. Since then, what was the original Outimage Online Sales Gallery established in 2006 was and will continue to be suspended until further notice.

With a considerably small demand for purchasing prints and having assessed the cost of similar off-the-shelf programs provided by internet development companies and various banks, it is not economically feasible to purchase one of these programs to replace the old sales gallery.

As for the rest of the website, it will be business as usual with new features and articles as they become available for publication within what is this editorial section of the website. The other section is the photo gallery, which will also serve as a facility for visitors to just view the photos. As local Australian events are covered, the gallery is usually the first place on the entire website where any new photos can be seen, ahead of any editorial coverage.

Future plans also include publishing further unpublished material within the existing Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race coverage for previous years covered by this website. Additional material will include unpublished photographs and press releases provided by the Rolex Media Team. In time, more pages will also be added to extend current coverage of the Rolex Trophy One Design and Ratings Series, for all previous years covered.
